Fans Day
7:47 am
i had one of the most wonderful mrt ride in my life. It was almost 8:00 and the mrt was sardine packed as usual with busy metro workers. I was so nonchalant when i went inside the train. I wasnt expecting to see one of my favorite artist and much better, he was seating right in front of me! The long hair, the black shirt, and the unmistakable orange tatoo on his left wrist. He is the one! IVAN ROXAS! ( i can hear angels singing in the background )
Flashback
Back when i was a sophomore i happened to come across a man who said he was Ivan Roxas. ( actually he ddnt said that he was ivan roxas, he showed me a painting and said that he was the one painted it... im that gullible! ) It was the wee hours and i was desperate for someone to teach me painting. I went to the MIRC, did some promotions and i waited for a response.
Here he was, Sir jake. ( thats what i call him)
After some x dealing, i finally agreed to meet him in robinsons ermita. As expected, he was late and horribly dressed. He was 5'5, with long curly hair that extends to his ass, and crazy beard that was only matched by the "taong grasa " in our place. Ah, A true blue artist!
First thing he asked was " Sino ka nga ba ulit? " ( Angas mode, he was smoking like shit, we stood there for five minutes and he already had 2 cigys! ) " Uh neil? " I almost forgot my name when he asked me because i got scared shit of him at first glance.
He's dennis the menace gone bad! hehe.
Master jake became my mentor in painting for about a semester and basically i owe everything in know about painting from him.
He now works in an advertising agency as an art director ( Good Luck!)Really, they need it now that hes the big guy there! hehe.
Another Flashback Flashback!
I remember the first time i saw ivan roxas was when me and my filibustero buddies were strolling the expanse of Quiapo. Trudging along the throng of people, we happened to stumble on this arts supply store called enriquez ( considered one of the oldest art supply store here in the philippines EVER. as in EVER! as professed by Domby our cross eyed professor who looks at the ceiling when he talks to us) and we saw two guys carrying a long roll of canvas, prolly six feet long. Then malignant quiapo told me and asadrix that the guy on the other end was ivan roxas who was very recognizable because of the orange tatoo on his wrist. Offcourse to save face i told him that my painting mentor right now is ivan roxas! i was fooled but then i cant really blame master jake for letting me believe that. I needed a a painting teacher desperately, he needed my cash. Well i find out later that the guy we saw with the orange tatoo was the REAL ivan roxas.
The Drill
8:30 am
I was almost late for the seminar, I was running towards anteneo graduate school. I was sweating. My tight fitting shirt was doing well, clinging to the right places. The sweat forming around my pecs, the sleeves getting tighter and my abs creating a new happy trail on my shirt ( hmmm..... im giving you ideas huh??)
Perfectly on that very morning, the neighboring condominium of ateneo professional school was having A drill .. A fire Drill. The residents were in chaos. Morning was full of life as the residents run amock the streets as if there precious condo was really burning! Fun. Fun. Fun! I get to experience the Drill myself because they had to block the normal entrance for the graduate school. Hmmm... I was sweating again!
By the time my friend saw me, i was now solar smelling and drenched in my sweat. Not that he didnt like it, but defenitely throws away my chances of a good first impression! ( i look like a hooker in a cheap everything for 99 pesos shirt that would go just for a 1 peso coffee. And unless the speakers especially from Campaigns and Grey like solar smelling boys whose drenched in sweat then im defenitely screwed by the drill!)
First time
The hallway was like a play pen. Teens with there hormones at their peak moment was running about like the rascals that they are.
9:00
The First talk was handled by the Managing director of Publici manila ( i think they were zenith multi media) . They gave a brief lecture on media planning and media buying. If ill both here it would take 2 pages so lemme just summarize it in one word. INTERESTING. ( for me at least)
